vlogs - HUH?
OK - well - I just finished reading Blogging + Video = Vlogging from Wired News - and my first reaction (which is also my initial reaction for blogging I will add) was "Who has time to do these things!!!" - is it their job? Do they have a very simple life, no family, don't sleep? I just can't figure it out? I am interested in all sorts of stuff and would love to keep up with lots of these things - but where in the world do you find the time??
OK - so that was my initial reaction - and still really my primary reaction - but then I went into Steve & Carol's vlog mentioned in the article - watched one short vlog from their yard sale - and I have to say - I feel this whole connection - and now I want to bond with them! So - now I will find the time to at least see what these two individuals are up to! There is surely a more productive way I can spend my newly alloted vlog review time - but hey - they were the first vlog for me ever - so now they are on my list!
In terms of the idea of the vlog itself - and I suppose I should relate this to education and/or learning - sure - there can be huge benefit here - we can actually see what we are learning - see who we are learning from/with etc. That could all be great - assuming people have video cameras and a clue as to how to do this - I don't...but I don't really know how to use my digital camera all that well either! Seems I am great with technology - but not so great with any portion of it that involves the firing of the creativity factor (not my strong point!)

Isn't it amazing what people find the time for... and now that there's going to be a video iPod...

While the tech geek in me says this is cool, I also shy away from it. I have always loved the written word, as it allows me to think, to correct, to change. And if I have any of my verbal filters down, a vlog might be just a bit too dangerous. Thank you for introducing the subject, though! Mike
